سلام في الذكرى الخمسين للحرب الأهلية: “لا داعي لبقاء إسرائيل جنوبًا، نحن في زمن الأقمار الاصطناعية”
في الذكرى الخمسين لاندلاع الحرب الأهلية اللبنانية، وقف رئيس الحكومة نواف سلام دقيقة صمت في ساحة الشهداء بوسط بيروت، ووضع إكليلًا من الزهور تكريماً لضحايا الحرب. خلال المراسم، شدد سلام على أن هذه الذكرى ليست مجرد تذكير بمآسي الماضي، بل فرصة للتعلم والعمل على بناء لبنان أكثر وحدة وأمانًا للمستقبل.
وفي كلمته، أكد سلام أن “ساحة الشهداء هي ساحة تجمع اللبنانيين جميعًا، ونحن اليوم في حاجة لاستعادة الثقة بين اللبنانيين ودولتهم”. وأضاف: “نحن نسعى لتسريع الإصلاحات التي تساهم في استعادة الثقة بوطننا، ونعمل معًا لبناء دولة قوية وقادرة”.
وأشار رئيس الحكومة إلى أن هذه الذكرى تذكّر اللبنانيين بأهمية تجنب العودة إلى مآسي الماضي والعمل على بناء وطن يضمن حياة كريمة وآمنة لجميع المواطنين. وقال: “لقد عانينا بما فيه الكفاية، وحان الوقت لبناء دولتنا القوية والموثوقة”.
وفيما يخص زيارته المرتقبة إلى سوريا، قال سلام: “سأبحث قضية المخفيين اللبنانيين في السجون السورية خلال زيارتي غدًا إلى سوريا، وأتمنى أن أعود بأخبار طيبة بشأن هذه القضية”. وأضاف أنه سيوافي اللبنانيين بتفاصيل أكثر بعد عودته.
أما عن قضية السرية المصرفية، فقد أكد سلام أهمية إصلاح النظام المصرفي قائلاً: “من استفاد من السرية المصرفية لتبييض الأموال يجب أن يُحاسب، والإصلاح في هذا المجال سيكون له دور كبير في استعادة الودائع المفقودة”.
وعن الوضع في الجنوب، شدد سلام على أنه “لا داعي لبقاء إسرائيل في النقاط المحتلة، فنحن في زمن الأقمار الاصطناعية التي تمكننا من معرفة كل شيء عن الأرض دون الحاجة لوجود نقاط احتلال”. وأعرب عن أمله في تحرير جميع الأراضي اللبنانية المحتلة وفقًا للقرارات الدولية.
اختتم رئيس الحكومة كلمته بالتأكيد على أن ذكرى الحرب الأهلية ليست لفتح جراح جديدة، بل لتذكير المواطنين بالدروس التي يجب أن تظل حاضرة في الذاكرة الوطنية. وقال: “كل الانتصارات كانت زائفة، والجميع خرج خاسرًا، والكل يتفق على غياب الدولة وعجزها، وهذا ما نعمل على إصلاحه اليوم”.

On the 50th anniversary of the Lebanese Civil War, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam observed a moment of silence in Martyrs' Square in downtown Beirut and laid a wreath in honor of the victims of the war. During the ceremony, Salam emphasized that this anniversary is not only a time to reflect on the tragedies of the past but also a chance to learn from them and work towards a more unified and secure Lebanon for the future.
In his speech, Salam noted that “Martyrs' Square is a place that has always brought together all Lebanese, and today it is an opportunity to restore trust between the Lebanese and their state.” He added, “We are committed to accelerating reforms that will help restore trust in our country, and we are working together to build a strong and capable state.”
The Prime Minister stressed that this anniversary reminds the Lebanese of the importance of avoiding a return to the tragedies of the past and focusing on building a nation that guarantees a dignified and safe life for all its citizens. “We have suffered enough, and it is time to build our strong and reliable state,” he said.
Regarding his upcoming visit to Syria, Salam stated, “I will address the issue of Lebanese detainees in Syrian prisons during my visit to Syria tomorrow, and I hope to return with good news on this matter.” He added that he would provide more details to the Lebanese people upon his return.
On the issue of banking secrecy, Salam confirmed the importance of reforming the banking system, saying, “Those who have exploited banking secrecy for money laundering should be held accountable, and reform in this area will play a significant role in recovering the lost deposits.”
As for the situation in the south, Salam emphasized, “There is no need for Israel to remain in the occupied points. We are in the age of satellites that allow us to know everything happening on the ground without the need for occupation points.” He expressed hope for the liberation of all Lebanese territories in accordance with international resolutions.
The Prime Minister concluded his speech by reaffirming that the commemoration of the Civil War anniversary is not to reopen old wounds but to remind citizens of the many lessons that should remain in the national memory. “All victories were illusory, and everyone came out as a loser, and all agree on the issue of the state's absence or its failure, which is what we are working to reform today.”
