سلام يُعلِن تحفظه على تعيين سعيد حاكمًا لمصرف لبنان: “قرار الحكومة رغم التحفظات”
أعلن رئيس الحكومة اللبنانية نواف سلام في تصريحات له اليوم الخميس، أن مجلس الوزراء اللبناني قد قرر تعيين السيد كريم سعيد حاكمًا جديدًا لـ مصرف لبنان. ورغم تأكيده على أنه كان من بين المتحفظين على هذا القرار، إلا أنه شدد على ضرورة أن يلتزم سعيد بالسياسة المالية التي تروج لها الحكومة اللبنانية في المرحلة القادمة.
تحفظات رئيس الحكومة على التعيين
وأوضح سلام أنه لم يكن من مرشحيه لهذا المنصب، نظراً للعديد من الأسباب المتعلقة بالحفاظ على حقوق المودعين وحماية أصول الدولة في هذه المرحلة الحرجة التي يمر بها لبنان. وقال: “لقد تحفظت مع عدد من الوزراء على تعيين السيد سعيد، ونحن حريصون على ضمان حماية حقوق المودعين والحفاظ على أصول الدولة.”
التزام الحاكم بالسياسة المالية للحكومة
رغم تحفظاته، شدد رئيس الحكومة على أن أي حاكم جديد لمصرف لبنان يجب أن يلتزم بالسياسة المالية التي تنتهجها الحكومة اللبنانية. وأكد أن السياسة الإصلاحية التي ينتهجها لبنان تشمل التفاوض مع صندوق النقد الدولي، إعادة هيكلة المصارف، بالإضافة إلى وضع خطة متكاملة تستند إلى أفضل المعايير الدولية لضمان حماية حقوق المودعين.
الإصلاحات الحكومية: السرية المصرفية
في سياق متصل، أشار سلام إلى أن الحكومة قد وافقت على مشروع قانون يهدف إلى تعديل قانون السرية المصرفية. وقال: “لقد شددت على ضرورة إلغاء السرية المصرفية في جلسة الثقة مع النواب، وهو جزء من خطة الإصلاحات الحكومية لضمان الشفافية واستعادة الثقة في النظام المالي اللبناني.”
التصويت على تعيين سعيد
فيما يتعلق بتعيين كريم سعيد، أشار مراسل “ليبانون ديبايت” إلى أن نائب رئيس الحكومة طارق متري و وزير الثقافة غسان سلامة بالإضافة إلى جميع الوزراء السنّة، قد امتنعوا عن التصويت لصالح تعيينه. ومع ذلك، نال سعيد 17 صوتًا من أصل 24، ما يشير إلى تأييد سياسي واسع من جانب بعض الأوساط السياسية اللبنانية.

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Salam announced today that the Council of Ministers has decided to appoint Kareem Saeed as the new Governor of Lebanon's Central Bank. Despite his reservations, Salam emphasized the importance of Saeed adhering to the financial policies set by the Lebanese government during this critical phase.

Salam explained that Saeed was not his preferred candidate for the position due to several concerns regarding the protection of depositors' rights and safeguarding the state's assets at this crucial time for Lebanon. Despite his reservations, the Prime Minister stressed that any new governor of Lebanon's Central Bank must comply with the financial policies adopted by the government. In related news, Salam highlighted that the government has approved a bill aimed at revising Lebanon's bank secrecy law. He mentioned, “I emphasized the need to eliminate bank secrecy during the trust session with the parliament, which is part of our reform plan to ensure transparency and restore trust in Lebanon's financial system.”
Vote on Saeed's Appointment
Regarding Kareem Saeed's appointment, a reporter from “Lebanon Debate” noted that Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Metri, Minister of Culture Ghassan Salameh, and all Sunni ministers did not vote in favor of his appointment. However, Saeed secured 17 votes out of 24, reflecting broad political support for the decision.
