كشف المحلل العسكري والمراسل في صحيفة “جيروزاليم بوست”، يونا جيريمي بوب، عن تبني الجيش الإسرائيلي لعقيدة أمنية جديدة في لبنان، تهدف إلى “السحق التام لحزب الله”، بدلاً من الاعتماد على سياسة الردع التقليدية التي كانت متبعة في السابق.
وأشار الكاتب إلى أن الهجوم الأخير خلال عطلة نهاية الأسبوع، الذي لم يُسجل فيه أي إصابات، أظهر تحولًا ملحوظًا في الاستراتيجية الإسرائيلية. حيث أطلقت مجموعة يشتبه في كونها فلسطينية، وليس من حزب الله، 6 صواريخ تجاه مدينة المطلة، سقط نصفها داخل الأراضي اللبنانية بينما تمكنت الدفاعات الإسرائيلية من إسقاط الثلاثة الآخرين.

“Total Destruction of Hezbollah”… A New Israeli Doctrine in Lebanon
Israeli military analyst and correspondent for Jerusalem Post, Yonah Jeremy Brop, revealed that the Israeli military has adopted a new security doctrine in Lebanon, focused on the principle of “total destruction of Hezbollah” instead of the traditional policy of deterrence.
Brop noted that the recent attack over the weekend, despite causing no casualties, indicated a significant shift in Israel's approach. A group suspected to be Palestinian, rather than Hezbollah, launched six rockets towards the town of Metula, with half of them falling inside Lebanon while Israel’s defense systems intercepted the remaining three.
In his article for the Israeli newspaper, Brop added, “Before October 7th, Israel's response to such attacks would have been limited to threats against Hezbollah, holding them responsible for maintaining calm, without significant military escalation. However, after the attack, Israel launched a series of airstrikes on Hezbollah positions across Lebanon, sending a clear message that any attack, even one that misses its target, will be met with powerful retaliation.”
According to the newspaper, Israel's strategy now goes beyond targeting rocket launch sites, adopting a broader approach aimed at continuously weakening Hezbollah, including targeting its leaders and fighters. Reports indicate that Hezbollah's Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, along with 3,851 of its fighters, were killed, with 9,000 more wounded during the recent conflict, in addition to over 100 casualties since the ceasefire on November 27.
