“رئيس الجمهورية يستذكر كمال جنبلاط: نتعلم من الدماء والأيام في ذكرى استشهاده”
في الذكرى الثامنة والأربعين لاستشهاد الزعيم الوطني كمال جنبلاط، استذكر رئيس الجمهورية اللبناني جوزاف عون الراحل بكلمات مؤثرة تعكس دوره الفكري والوطني الكبير. وقال عون: “نستذكر اليوم رحيل كمال جنبلاط، زعيماً كبيراً في لبنان، ومناضلاً مؤمناً بحق فلسطين، ومفكراً مشعاً على المنطقة والعالم، وشهيداً في سبيل الحرية والتحرر من ذلك ‘السجن الكبير'”.
وأضاف الرئيس عون: “نستذكر معه، كما قال اليوم بالذات نجله الزعيم وليد جنبلاط، ‘الشهداء الأبرياء من أبناء المنطقة وخارجها، الذين سقطوا ظلماً وغدراً'، إثر تلك الجريمة البشعة التي شكّلت محطة دامية في تاريخ لبنان السياسي”.
وأكد عون على أن “من تلك الدماء والأيام، نتعلم أن لبنان، الدولة الجامعة، المنبثقة من إراداتنا الموحدة، هو حمايتنا الأكيدة والوحيدة”. وشدد على أن التجارب أثبتت أن الانقسام والاحتراب الداخلي لم يؤديا إلا إلى المزيد من المآسي، فيما يبقى الحل في التمسك بالدولة ومؤسساتها الشرعية.
كمال جنبلاط: زعيم الفكر والنضال
كمال جنبلاط، الذي اغتيل في 16 آذار 1977، كان أحد أبرز الزعامات السياسية والفكرية في لبنان، وقد ترك بصمات لا تُمحى على الحياة السياسية في لبنان، سواء من خلال قيادته للحزب التقدمي الاشتراكي، أو عبر دوره في الحركة الوطنية اللبنانية. وكان من أبرز الداعمين للقضية الفلسطينية وحقوق الشعوب في التحرر والاستقلال، وظلّ حتى لحظة استشهاده منادياً ببناء دولة مدنية ديمقراطية قائمة على العدالة والمساواة.
الاحتفال بالذكرى في المختارة
وفي الذكرى الثامنة والأربعين لاستشهاد “المعلم”، توافد عدد كبير من المواطنين إلى بلدة المختارة صباح اليوم الأحد، لإحياء هذه المناسبة التي نظمها الحزب التقدمي الاشتراكي أمام قصر المختارة. واحتشد المشاركون تكريماً لذكرى شهيد الفكر والنضال كمال جنبلاط، الذي استشهد في 16 آذار 1977.
خطاب وليد جنبلاط: إرادة الصمود والمواجهة
وفي خطاب له خلال المناسبة، أكد رئيس الحزب التقدمي الاشتراكي السابق وليد جنبلاط على أهمية هذه الذكرى التي تجسد قوة الإرادة في مواجهة التحديات والتضحيات. وقال جنبلاط: “طوال 48 عامًا، كنا نجتمع في 16 آذار نتلو الفاتحة ونضع زهرة حمراء على ضريح كمال جنبلاط، وكانت هذه المناسبة فرصة للاستمرار في التحدي والمواجهة وللتذكير بالبقاء، نستمد منها إرادة الصمود والحياة.”
وأضاف جنبلاط قائلاً: “طوال 48 عامًا، كنا نقف إجلالاً لدماء الشهداء الذين سقطوا غدرًا في ذلك اليوم المشؤوم.”
كما أشار جنبلاط إلى تطور الأحداث في سوريا، حيث شدد على أن “إذا أشرقت على سوريا شمس الحرية وسقط نظام القهر والاستبداد بعد نحو 54 عامًا، وتحرر الشعب السوري، حيث أن الحكم الجديد بقيادة أحمد الشرع اعتقل المسؤول عن اغتيال كمال جنبلاط، إبراهيم حويجة”، معلنًا “ختم هذا التقليد كون عدالة التاريخ أخذت مجراها ولو بعد حين.”
“President Aoun Remembers Kamel Jumblatt: Learning from His Blood and Days on the Anniversary of His Martyrdom”
On the 48th anniversary of the martyrdom of the national leader Kamel Jumblatt, Lebanese President Michel Aoun recalled the late leader with poignant words that reflected his significant intellectual and national role. Aoun said, “Today, we remember the passing of Kamel Jumblatt, a great leader in Lebanon, a fighter who believed in the right of Palestine, an inspiring thinker to the region and the world, and a martyr for freedom and liberation from that ‘great prison.'”
President Aoun continued: “We also remember, as his son, leader Walid Jumblatt, said today, ‘the innocent martyrs from the region and beyond, who fell unjustly and treacherously,' as a result of that heinous crime that marked a bloody chapter in Lebanon's political history.”
Aoun emphasized, “From those bloods and days, we learn that Lebanon, the unifying state, born from our united wills, is our absolute and sole protection.” He stressed that history has proven that internal division and civil war have only led to more tragedies, while the solution remains in upholding the state and its legitimate institutions.
Kamel Jumblatt: A Leader of Thought and Struggle
Kamel Jumblatt, who was assassinated on March 16, 1977, was one of Lebanon's most prominent political and intellectual leaders. He left an indelible mark on Lebanese political life, not only through his leadership of the Progressive Socialist Party but also through his role in the Lebanese National Movement. Jumblatt was one of the strongest supporters of the Palestinian cause and the rights of peoples to liberation and independence, and he remained, until his death, an advocate for the establishment of a civil democratic state based on justice and equality.
Commemoration in Al-Mokhtara
On the 48th anniversary of his martyrdom, a large number of citizens gathered in Al-Mokhtara on Sunday morning to commemorate this occasion organized by the Progressive Socialist Party in front of the Mokhtara Palace. The participants gathered in honor of the martyr of thought and struggle, Kamel Jumblatt, who was killed on March 16, 1977.
Walid Jumblatt's Speech: Willingness to Resist and Persevere
In his speech during the event, former PSP leader Walid Jumblatt emphasized the importance of this anniversary as a symbol of strength and resistance in the face of challenges and sacrifices. He said, “For 48 years, we have gathered on March 16 to recite Al-Fatiha and place a red flower on Kamel Jumblatt’s grave. This occasion has always been an opportunity to continue the challenge and resistance, reminding us to remain steadfast and resilient.”
He added, “For 48 years, we have stood in reverence for the martyrs who were treacherously killed on that fateful day.”
Walid Jumblatt also referenced the developments in Syria, stating that “If freedom dawns on Syria and the system of oppression and tyranny falls after nearly 54 years, the Syrian people will be liberated, and the new government under Ahmad al-Shara's leadership has arrested the person responsible for Kamel Jumblatt's assassination, Ibrahim Hweijeh,” declaring, “This marks the end of this tradition as historical justice has taken its course, even if delayed.”
