أعلن ستيف ويتكوف، مبعوث الرئيس الأميركي السابق دونالد ترامب، أن لبنان وسوريا قد ينضمان قريبًا إلى اتفاقات السلام مع إسرائيل، وهو ما أثار العديد من التساؤلات حول الدوافع والخلفيات التي استند إليها في هذا الإعلان.

في هذا السياق، أكد العميد المتقاعد الطيار بسام ياسين في حديث له عبر “ليبانون ديبايت” أن ما يحدث يعود بشكل أساسي إلى نتائج الحرب، مشيرًا إلى أن إسرائيل تعتبر أنها قد كسرَت عزيمة المقاومة في لبنان وحاصرتها. وأوضح أن إسرائيل تعتمد على اتفاقات قد دخلت في إطار النفوذ الأميركي، الذي هو، في النهاية، النفوذ الإسرائيلي.

وقال ياسين: “الهدف الأميركي والإسرائيلي من هذا التحرك هو تنفيذ ما يُسمى بمشروع أبراهام، الذي يعزز من مكانة إسرائيل كدولة محورية في المنطقة، حيث تصبح الدول المحيطة بها تدور في فلكها، من خلال التطبيع”.

كما أكد ياسين أن هناك محاولات جادة من الولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل لإدخال لبنان في هذا المشروع، لكنّ الحقيقة التي لا شك فيها هي أن لبنان لن يكون من المطبّعين في المستقبل القريب. وأشار إلى أن لبنان في صراع دائم مع إسرائيل، خصوصًا في مناطق الجنوب، وأننا ندرك تمامًا أطماع هذه الدولة في أراضينا.

وأضاف أن “الأشخاص الذين يهللون للتطبيع مع إسرائيل في لبنان هم في الأساس مخدوعون، فإسرائيل لا تملك ندًا، بل تطمح لأن تصبح الدول المجاورة لها تابعة لها”.

وشدّد ياسين على أنه في حال قررت الدولة اللبنانية السير في هذا الاتجاه، فإن ذلك لن يحدث إلا إذا تم حل القضية الفلسطينية بشكل عادل، وكذلك يجب إنهاء مشاكل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين والسوريين بشكل شامل. ويجب على لبنان أيضًا الحصول على ضمانات بأن يكون ندًا لإسرائيل، وليس مجرد تابع لها. وأكد أن اللبنانيين، الذين يُشهد لهم بفعاليّتهم في الداخل والخارج، لن يكونوا في يوم من الأيام تابعين لأحد.

وفي ختام حديثه، أعرب ياسين عن قلقه الشديد تجاه هذا المشروع التطبيعي، لكنه أكد في الوقت ذاته يقينه بأن لبنان لن يكون جزءًا من هذا التوجه في المستقبل.

“America Begins Pushing for Normalization… Lebanon Stands Firm Unless!”

Steve Witekoff, the envoy of former U.S. President Donald Trump, announced that Lebanon and Syria may soon join peace agreements with Israel, a statement that raised many questions regarding the motivations and background of his declaration.

In this regard, retired Brigadier General Pilot Bassam Yassine, in an interview with “Lebanon Debate,” explained that what is happening largely depends on the outcome of the war, adding that Israel considers it has broken the will of resistance in Lebanon and surrounded it. He pointed out that Israel is relying on agreements that have placed Lebanon in the American sphere, which ultimately is the Israeli sphere.

Yassine said, “The goal of the U.S. and Israel is to implement what is called the Abraham Accords, positioning Israel as a central state in the region, with neighboring countries revolving around it through normalization.”

Yassine further confirmed that the U.S. and Israel are making serious attempts to involve Lebanon in this project. However, he stated with certainty that Lebanon will not join the normalization process in the near future. He explained that Lebanon has been in a constant struggle with Israel, especially in the southern regions, and that Lebanon is fully aware of Israel's territorial ambitions.

He added that “those in Lebanon who are advocating for normalization with Israel are essentially deceived, as Israel has no equal; instead, it seeks to make neighboring countries its subordinates.”

Yassine stressed that should Lebanon decide to go down this path, it would only happen if a just solution to the Palestinian issue is reached, and if the problems related to Palestinian and Syrian refugees are comprehensively resolved. Furthermore, Lebanon should secure guarantees that it remains on equal terms with Israel, not subjugated to it. He affirmed that Lebanese people, renowned for their effectiveness both domestically and abroad, will never become subordinates to anyone.

Concluding his remarks, Yassine expressed his deep concern about such normalization projects, but he remained confident that Lebanon will not be part of this trend in the future.
