“10 أيام من التعقب”… تفاصيل اعتقال العميد عاطف نجيب!

لا يزال خبر اعتقال العميد عاطف نجيب، ابن خالة الرئيس السوري السابق بشار الأسد، ورئيس فرع الأمن السياسي في محافظة درعا سابقًا، يشغل الرأي العام السوري. وقد تصاعدت التساؤلات حول كيفية تعقبه حتى تم القبض عليه.

تبين أن العميد نجيب، الذي عرفه السوريون بلقب “مقتلع أظافر أطفال درعا”، كان يحاول الهروب من سوريا مع مجموعة من الضباط في الجيش السوري، إلا أن قوات الأمن العام في الإدارة الجديدة نجحت في إلقاء القبض عليه بعد عملية مطاردة دامت أكثر من عشرة أيام.

مصطفى كنيفاتي، مدير الأمن العام في محافظة اللاذقية، أكد أن عملية تعقب نجيب بدأت بعد رصد تحركاته التي كانت تشير إلى محاولة اختبائه في ريف جبلة. وأضاف كنيفاتي أنه تم نصب كمين بالقرب من بلدة الحفة، مما أسفر عن توقيفه.

وأوضح كنيفاتي أن العملية الأمنية التي أسفرت عن اعتقال نجيب تأتي ضمن جهود السلطات لمحاسبة المتورطين في الجرائم والانتهاكات التي ارتكبت بحق الشعب السوري على مدار سنوات، مشيرًا إلى أن نجيب قد تم تحويله إلى الجهات المعنية لمحاكمته.

عاطف نجيب أصبح اسمه مرتبطًا بحادثة درعا في آذار 2011، عندما قام مجموعة من الأطفال بكتابة شعار “جاء دورك يا دكتور” على الجدران، وهو شعار يشير إلى سقوط بشار الأسد في خضم الثورات العربية. عقب هذه الحادثة، أمر نجيب باعتقال الأطفال وتعذيبهم لإجبارهم على الاعتراف بمن كان وراء تحريضهم على التظاهر، وكان من بين هؤلاء الطفل حمزة الخطيب الذي مات تحت التعذيب.

رفض بشار الأسد إقالة نجيب على الرغم من الاحتجاجات الشعبية، بل تم تشكيل لجنة للتحقيق في الحادثة، إلا أنها لم تؤدي إلى أي نتائج ملموسة، واكتفت فقط بمنع نجيب من السفر.

بعد سقوط بشار الأسد في 8 كانون الأول 2024، وفراره إلى روسيا، قامت القوات الأمنية الجديدة باعتقال العديد من الضباط الذين خدموا في جيش النظام السابق. وأكدت السلطات أنها عازمة على محاسبة المتورطين في الجرائم والانتهاكات التي ارتكبها النظام طوال 14 عامًا من الحرب.

After this incident, Najib ordered the arrest and torture of the children to force confessions about who had incited them to protest, including Hamza al-Khatib, a child who died under torture.

Despite widespread protests, Bashar al-Assad refused to remove Najib from his position. A committee was formed to investigate the incident, but it led to no tangible outcomes, only resulting in Najib being banned from traveling.

After Bashar al-Assad’s fall on December 8, 2024, and his escape to Russia, the new security forces have been arresting many officers from the previous regime’s military. The authorities have confirmed that they are committed to holding accountable those involved in the crimes and violations committed during 14 years of war.
