كشف عقيد احتياط في الجيش الإسرائيلي أن العديد من أنفاق حزب الله في جنوب لبنان هي عبارة عن أفخاخ مميتة، وحذّر من عمليات الاستدراج التي ينفّذها الحزب على الحدود الجنوبية. وفقًا للعقيد جاك نيريا، المستشار السابق لرئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي إسحاق رابين، فإن مقاتلي حزب الله يسمحون للقوات الإسرائيلية بالتقدّم ومن ثم يهاجمونها من الخلف، مما تسبب بخسائر متكررة في صفوف الجيش الإسرائيلي في الأيام الأخيرة.
نيريا أكد في مقابلة مع القناة الإسرائيلية 13 أن حزب الله استعاد قوته ويستمر في تحقيق النجاحات العسكرية على الأرض، متوقعًا أن يدخل الجيش الإسرائيلي أكثر إلى جنوب لبنان، وهو ما يمنح حزب الله فرصًا أكبر لشن الهجمات.
كما علّق العقيد نيريا على الفيديو الذي نشره حزب الله مؤخرًا، والذي دعا فيه لإخلاء 25 مستوطنة في شمال فلسطين المحتلة، واصفًا هذه الخطوة بأنها جزء من عمليات الردع التي ينفذها الحزب.
في السياق نفسه، أقرّ الجيش الإسرائيلي بمقتل 4 جنود إضافيين، لترتفع حصيلة القتلى في صفوفه إلى 17 خلال الأيام الثلاثة الماضية، في اشتباكات عنيفة مع حزب الله.

An Israeli reserve colonel revealed that Hezbollah's tunnels in southern Lebanon are strategic traps, warning of the ambush tactics employed by the group during the ongoing ground operations near the border. According to Colonel Jack Neria, who formerly served as an advisor to the late Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, Hezbollah has been utilizing underground tunnels to lure Israeli forces forward, only to attack them from behind once they have advanced. This tactic has proven successful multiple times recently, contributing to Hezbollah's growing confidence.
Neria emphasized that Hezbollah appears to have regained its strength and momentum, leveraging Israel's deeper incursions into southern Lebanon to launch more effective assaults. He noted that Hezbollah’s fighters are emboldened by their recent successes, continuing to engage Israeli troops strategically.
Hezbollah's call for the evacuation of 25 Israeli settlements was also a point of discussion. Neria pointed out the similarities between Hezbollah’s strategy and Israel’s approach in Beirut, where both sides target areas of strategic importance. The group issued a warning to Israeli settlers, stating that these settlements had become military zones and were thus legitimate targets for Hezbollah's aerial and missile attacks.
Amid these developments, the Israeli military has acknowledged mounting casualties. Over the past three days, Israel confirmed the deaths of 17 soldiers, including 4 on Sunday alone, as clashes with Hezbollah intensify in southern Lebanon.
