“لا تفاوض قبل وقف النار”… برّي: لا أعترف بالقرار 1701 plus!
رغم التصعيد العسكري المستمر على لبنان وتزايد حدة القصف الإسرائيلي على المدن والبلدات، أظهر رئيس مجلس النواب نبيه بري تفاؤلاً بشأن المفاوضات الجارية. وأشار بري، في حديثه عن اللقاء الذي جمعه بالموفد الأميركي الخاص عاموس هوكشتين، إلى أنه كان لقاءً جاداً للغاية وأسفر عن نتائج إيجابية، دون الإفصاح عن تفاصيل تلك النتائج، مشدداً على أن “العبرة في النتائج”، وأن الوقت ليس مناسباً للإفصاح عنها.
وأكد بري أنه أرسل رسالة واضحة إلى هوكشتين تفيد بأن “لبنان متمسك بتطبيق كامل بنود قرار مجلس الأمن رقم 1701 كما هو دون أي تعديلات أو إضافات”، معرباً عن رفضه لما يُسمى بـ “1701 plus”. وبيّن أن القرار الذي تم اعتماده منذ عام 2006 يجب أن يُنفذ بجميع بنوده دون تغيير.
وفيما يخص التصعيد العسكري الأخير، أشار بري إلى أن إسرائيل ترسل رسالة واضحة عبر الهجمات المكثفة على الجنوب، خصوصاً في النبطية، حيث أُبيدت عائلات بأكملها. ورغم ذلك، أعاد التأكيد على ضرورة التفاؤل بإمكانية وقف التصعيد وبدء المفاوضات بعد وقف شامل لإطلاق النار.
وأضاف بري أن لبنان مستعد للتفاوض فوراً بعد التوصل إلى وقف كامل وشامل للنار، مشيراً إلى أن ذلك سيمكن البلاد من عقد جلسة لانتخاب رئيس للجمهورية. كما شدد على أن لبنان ملتزم بتطبيق القرار 1701 من أجل إعادة الاستقرار على الحدود مع إسرائيل، موضحاً أن الجيش اللبناني هو الجهة الوحيدة المخولة بتنفيذ هذا القرار بالتعاون مع القوات الدولية.

“No Negotiations Before a Ceasefire”… Berri: I Do Not Acknowledge Resolution 1701 Plus!
Despite the ongoing military escalation and Israel’s relentless attacks on Lebanese cities and towns, Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri remains cautiously optimistic about the ongoing negotiations. Berri, discussing his meeting with U.S. envoy Amos Hochstein as reported by Al-Akhbar newspaper, described the meeting as “very serious,” resulting in “positive outcomes,” without divulging specific details. He emphasized that “the proof is in the results” and stated that it’s not yet the right time to disclose further information.
Berri conveyed a clear message to Hochstein, affirming that “Lebanon is committed to the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 without any amendments or additions.” He firmly rejected the concept of “1701 plus,” emphasizing that the resolution as it stands, adopted since 2006, should be fully enforced without alterations.
Regarding the military escalation, Berri pointed out that Israel is sending a clear message through its intensified bombardment, particularly in the southern regions like Nabatiyeh, where entire families have been wiped out. However, Berri remained optimistic, stating that any negotiations to implement Resolution 1701 must first be preceded by a comprehensive ceasefire.
He further added that “Lebanon is ready to begin negotiations immediately following a full ceasefire,” noting that this would pave the way for a session to elect a new president. In his analysis, Berri emphasized that Lebanon is committed to enforcing Resolution 1701 to restore stability along the Israeli-Lebanese border, stressing that the Lebanese Army, with support from international forces, is the sole authority responsible for implementing the resolution.
