شبكة “سي إن إن” أفادت بأن عدة قاذفات من طراز B-2 شاركت في الهجوم، حيث استهدفت مستودعات أسلحة متطورة يستخدمها الحوثيون لضرب أهداف عسكرية وسفن في البحر الأحمر وخليج عدن. وأوضح أوستن أن العملية تؤكد قدرة الولايات المتحدة على الوصول إلى أهداف محصنة وعميقة، كما تعكس مدى قدرة القاذفات B-2 Spirit طويلة المدى.
وأشارت جينيفر غريفين، المراسلة الأمنية لشبكة “فوكس نيوز”، إلى أن القاذفات انطلقت من قاعدة جوية في ولاية ميسوري، بهدف إرسال رسالة واضحة لإيران وحلفائها في المنطقة. وأضافت أن هذه القاذفات هي الوحيدة التي يمكنها حمل قنابل GBU-57 A/B الضخمة، المعروفة بقدرتها على اختراق المنشآت المدفونة في أعماق الأرض، مثل المنشآت النووية الإيرانية في نطنز وفوردو.

According to a report by “Yedioth Ahronoth,” the strike occurred amid rising tensions between the U.S. and Iran, with the latter threatening retaliation and Israel preparing its response. The reports indicate that the airstrike targeted sites belonging to Iran-backed Houthi forces, using the powerful B-2 Spirit bombers, which could be deployed in the future against Iranian nuclear facilities.
CNN reported that several B-2 bombers participated in the operation, hitting underground arms depots containing advanced weapons used by the Houthis to strike military targets and civilian ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. Austin emphasized that the operation highlights the U.S.'s capability to reach fortified, deeply buried targets and showcases the global strike power of the long-range B-2 Spirit bombers.
Fox News security correspondent Jennifer Griffin noted that the bombers took off from a U.S. airbase in Missouri, aiming to send a clear message to Iran and its proxies in the region. She added that these bombers are the only aircraft capable of carrying the massive GBU-57 A/B bombs, known for their ability to penetrate deeply buried facilities, such as Iran's nuclear sites in Natanz and Fordow.
Although Iran is reportedly strengthening its defenses by digging new tunnels in its nuclear facilities, these strikes reinforce the U.S.'s commitment to counter any Iranian threat. The report also mentioned that Washington is working to prevent Israel from launching an attack on Iran's nuclear infrastructure before the U.S. presidential elections, while simultaneously bolstering Israeli defense with the deployment of the THAAD system operated by 100 U.S. troops.
