أشار الكاتب والمحلل السياسي وجدي العريضي, إلى أن “الساعات المقبلة مفصلية وحرجة, فإما لبنان يدخل حرباً لا هوادة فيها ستكون الأخطر في تاريخه المعاصر, أو تنجح الجهود الديبلوماسية لثني رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي المجنون بنيامين نتنياهو عن القيام بعمل عسكري كبير على الحدود الشمالية”.
وفي حديث إلى “ليبانون ديبايت”, لفت العريضي إلى أن “معلوماته التي استقاها من مرجعيات سياسية ودبلوماسية تشير إلى أن نتنياهو اتخذ القرار بشن حرب على الحدود الشمالية ولا يرى مناصاً من ذلك على الرغم من محاولات إقناعه, حيث هناك اتصالات جرت على أعلى المستويات في الساعات الماضية ولا زالت قائمة, لذلك السباق محموم بين الإنفجار العسكري والدبلوماسية”.
وأضاف، “حزب الله بالمرصاد لنتنياهو وأمثاله وخصوصاً من الذين يحاولون انتهاك السيادة اللبنانية وشنّ حرب تذكّر بمراحل الإجتياح الإسرائيلي في العام 1978 والعام 1982 وما بعدها, ولكن زمن الماضي ولّى, فإن هذه المغامرات غير المحسوبة النتائج بالنسبة لإسرائيل ستكبّدها خسائر فادحة”.
وتابع, “حزب الله اتخذ كل الإجراءات والإحتياطات اللازمة، وهو في حالة استنفار وسيفاجئ إسرائيل برد واسع النطاق, وستشتعل كل الساحات إذا حاول نتنياهو القيام بهذه المغامرة”.
وأكّد أن “المعلومات تشير إلى أن قرار الحرب يغلب على الدبلوماسية حتى الساعة, ولا أحد يريدها من كل الأطراف, إنّما نتنياهو يسعى لمصالحة الإسرائيليين بالقيام بعمل عسكري على الحدود الشمالية لتأمين سلامة المستوطين”.
وأردف، “لبنان يحبس أنفاسه والجميع يترقّب وينتظر ما يمكن أن يحصل في الساعات القادمة”.
وحذّر العريضي في الختام، من ما يمكن أن يحصل في الجنوب، مشيراً إلى أن “رئيس مجلس الجنوب هاشم حيدر استنفر من أجل موضوع النازحين، فطبول الحرب تقرع ولن أقول أننا مقبلون على أيام سوداء، بل على أيام هي الأخطر في تاريخ لبنان المعاصر”.

Political analyst and writer, Wadih Al-Aridi, emphasized that “the coming hours are critical and decisive. Lebanon is on the brink of either entering an all-out war, which could be the most dangerous in its modern history, or diplomatic efforts will succeed in deterring the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, from launching a major military action on the northern border.”
In an interview with “Lebanon Debate,” Al-Aridi pointed out that “his information, gathered from political and diplomatic sources, indicates that Netanyahu has made the decision to go to war on the northern border, seeing no alternative despite attempts to persuade him otherwise. High-level communications have been ongoing in recent hours, but the race between military escalation and diplomacy is intensifying.”
He added, “Hezbollah is prepared to confront Netanyahu and others like him, particularly those seeking to violate Lebanese sovereignty and launch a war reminiscent of the Israeli invasions in 1978 and 1982. However, the days of the past are over, and these reckless adventures will cost Israel significant losses.”
Al-Aridi continued, “Hezbollah has taken all necessary precautions and is on high alert. It is ready to surprise Israel with a large-scale response, and all fronts will ignite if Netanyahu embarks on this dangerous adventure.”
He affirmed that “the information suggests the decision for war is currently overshadowing diplomatic efforts. None of the parties want a war, but Netanyahu is aiming to appease the Israeli public by launching a military operation on the northern border to ensure the safety of settlers.”
He concluded by saying, “Lebanon is holding its breath as everyone waits and watches what may unfold in the coming hours.”
Al-Aridi also warned about the potential developments in the south, noting that “Hashem Haidar, head of the South Council, has mobilized in response to the issue of refugees. The drums of war are sounding, and while I won’t say we are heading toward dark days, we are undoubtedly facing one of the most perilous periods in Lebanon’s modern history.”
