Position’s mission:

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the social worker is responsible for leading, planning, and conducting inclusive initiatives with the community.

Reports to: Inclusive Education – Project Manager

Interacts with:

The Project Manager and the project team; The support services staff

The project partners; Local and International NGO; Local service providers

Other’s stakeholders in the related field in the project area of implementation

Missions / Responsibilities

Responsibility 1: Contribute to the development of tools for the project implementation and to the capacity building of the project team and partners.

Aim: Ensure the project team and partners understand and are able to apply the chosen modalities of intervention in compliance with HI technical framework.

  • – Participate in the selection and contextualization of the modalities of intervention in compliance with HI technical framework.
  • – Contribute to the development and/or adaptation of methodologies and to the development of technical tools
  • – Organize and/or participate to the testing of the tool whenever appropriate and adjust them according to the results of the test
  • – Provide ad-hoc support to the team during tools use including field coaching
  • – Train project partners and relevant actors and stakeholders on the methodologies and tools.
  • – Produce training and coaching reports and coordinate feedback with the service providers for strengthening continuous staff development

Responsibility 2: Support the implementation of project activities.

Aim: Ensure  that the project intervention contributes to positive outcomes for the beneficiaries

Tasks: In collaboration with the technical officers and under the project manager’s supervision, the social worker will coordinate with stakeholders to implement activities

– The social worker/animator will be responsible for training parents on the parental engagement training pack

– The social worker/ animator will map out, identify and engage with stakeholders (schools and communities) to conduct Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) activities

– The social worker/animator will be responsible in close coordination with stakeholder’s focal points to organize and plan activities

Develop communication material and organize the events

  • The animator will be responsible for developing inclusive material in close coordination related to different events such as: creating visibility items, creating leaflets, organizing social activities (municipality, women in the communities…)

Data collection and its monitoring:

  • – Report on activities conducted and, reflect on lesson learning.
  • – Ensure data collected is accurate, complete and consistent;
  • – Collect, analyze and disaggregate data by disability, gender, and age
  • – Work in harmonic coordination with all teams’ members
  • – Timely inform your line manager of your weekly needs and produce the related documentation
  • – Range all the open files in order and respect confidentiality
  • – Participate in the different activities that are common to all team members
  • – Ensure internal standards and guidelines are respected
  • – Fill daily with precision the internal reporting tools (weekly report, donation certificate) and any other reports to be made upon line manager request
  • – Complete an evolution note after each intervention done

Note that this job description must remain flexible, to respond to additional tasks or changes as identified by the line manager.

Education:

  • Essential: University degree in social work or related degree

Experience:

  • Essential: At least 3 years of experience as Social Worker
  • Essential: At least 3 years of professional experience in the related field with preference with NGO. Social work experiences with persons with disabilities on their education and/or rehabilitation issues would be an asset.
  • Essential: Demonstrate good understanding of social issues.
  • Essential: Understanding of a comprehensive approach on disability and vulnerability.
  • Essential: Proven coordination skills to work with a diverse network of actors, including the public authorities, in a diplomatic manner.
  • Essential: Good report writing skills.
  • Essential: Demonstrated effective communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Essential: Ability to relate to the target group (be approachable, shows empathy).
  • Essential: Ability to propose workable solutions and identify their implications (positive and negative) adapted to beneficiaries’ needs.
  • Desirable: Experience with NGOs.
  • Desirable: Social work experiences with persons with disabilities on their education and/or rehabilitation issues would be an asset

Skills

  • Essential: English and Arabic mandatory (oral and written),
  • Desirable: French.
  • Desirable: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, especially Excel, Word and Power Point.

Basic salary ranges for the position: Social Worker is going to be paid according to the experience and to HI salary Grid.

Basic Salary Starting 1700 USD
