The Recovery Support Assistant at Cedar Rehab Center for Addiction and Prevention plays a vital role in supporting patients undergoing addiction recovery.
As a life coach, you will be responsible for staying with patients, providing motivation, fulfilling their needs, and being readily available to offer support throughout their journey to recovery during the shifts (day/night).
Key Responsibilities:
Accompany Patients: During the shift, be present and available to patients throughout their stay at the center, providing a constant source of support and encouragement during their journey towards recovery during both day and night during the shift.
Motivate Patients: Use motivational tool, techniques and positive reinforcement to inspire patients to stay committed to their recovery goals.
Fulfill Needs: Address the various needs of patients, including emotional, and psychological support. Assist with activities of daily living and ensure patients have access to necessary resources.
Provide Support: Offer empathy, understanding, and a non-judgmental attitude to create a safe and supportive environment for patients to express and communicate their feelings and concerns.
Offer Guidance: Assist patients in developing coping strategies, setting realistic goals, and overcoming the challenges they encounter during the recovery process.
Monitor Progress: Keep track of patients' progress in their recovery journey and provide feedback to the management and clinical team as necessary.
Coordinate Activities: Organize recreational activities, group sessions, and workshops to engage patients.
Collaborate with Treatment Team: Work closely with our clinical director, therapists, and medical staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.
Maintain Confidentiality: Adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines to protect the privacy of patients.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working in a similar role, particularly in addiction recovery or mental health settings, is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help and support others.
Ability to maintain composure and provide support in challenging situations.
