LWRO seeks to achieve its mission and strategic goal that aims at protecting the rights of all workers and employees in Lebanon, by developing gender-sensitive and human rights-based social protection systems and legal frameworks.
Our theory of change works at different pillars guided by the five interrelated principles of social justice: access, equity, participation, gender equality and human rights. Our interventions cover the following: Empowering workers in Lebanon through labor rights literacy and awareness raising; Advocating for inclusive and non-discriminatory labor law, legislation and social protection policies based on gender equality and decent work; Advocating for the democratization of trade union movement.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Operations Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operational activities of the NGO, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Coordinate logistics for program activities, events, and meetings, including venue booking, travel arrangements, and equipment procurement.
- Monitor operational performance and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
2. General Administration
- Ensure that operations and procedures are in line with LWRO’s policies and procedures.
- Assists with all operations activities related to the emergency response as requested, including monthly billing, tracking and reimbursements.
- Requests & ensures all operational monthly settlements are closed and documented (scanned, field…)
- Prepares Payment Requestor relevant supplier’s/service providers and submit it to the finance department in order to process their payments.
- Offers support and/or guidance to operation in tracking all petty cash transactions and update related form regularly.
- Procurement:
- Manage the procurement process for goods and services required by the organization, adhering to donor regulations and procurement guidelines.
- Identify reliable suppliers and negotiate contracts to obtain competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Check on the request for quotations (RFQs) related to emergencies before sharing it with supplier’s/service providers.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, including purchase orders, contracts, and invoices.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international development, business administration, communications, law, social sciences, or political sciences.
- Previous experience working in operations management, procurement, or communications roles within the NGO sector is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement and communication tools/software is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment with sensitivity to cultural differences and diversity.
- Utilize knowledge of law, social, and political sciences to analyze relevant issues and provide insights for programmatic decision-making.
- Stay informed about legal and regulatory developments affecting the NGO sector, particularly in areas related to human rights, governance, and international law.
- Apply social and political science concepts to understand the social context of the NGO's work and contribute to effective advocacy efforts.
