Terms of Reference for Media Officer:

1. Social Media Management, Media Planning, and Advocacy Campaigns

  • Develop and implement a social media strategy and comprehensive media plans that align with the organization's goals, objectives, and values.
  • Manage daily postings across all relevant social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.), ensuring content is timely, relevant, and engaging.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of social media campaigns and media plans, adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Lead and manage social media advocacy campaigns, ensuring they align with the Nabaa’s mission.

2. Content Creation and Management

  • Take high-quality photographs and videos at events or field activities.
  • Create and edit digital content, including graphics, videos, and infographics, tailored to Nabaa’s activities.
  • Write and edit compelling content for social media posts, press releases, and other communication materials focusing on accurate, humanitarian-based content and news related to the Nabaa's activities and impact.
  • Ensure all materials, including the annual report and posters, adhere to the Nabaa's media policy and posting guidelines, and reflect the organization's values and mission.

3. Engagement, Communication, and Transparency

  • Ensure transparency in communications, accurately representing Nabaa's stance and actions on key issues.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure a cohesive approach to social media presence, and public communications as well as gather content, stories, data, and visuals for the creation of posters and the annual report.
  • Utilize posters and the annual report as tools for transparent communication, engaging stakeholders, donors, and the public with visually appealing summaries of the Nabaa's work and impact.

4. Analytics and Reporting

  • Analyze the performance of social media advocacy campaigns, providing detailed reports on engagement, reach, and the campaigns’ impact towards the Nabaa's advocacy objectives.
  • Form insights from analytics to refine and enhance future advocacy campaigns and content strategies.

5. Other Duties

  • Remain informed on global and local issues relevant to the NGO’s mission and advocacy campaigns.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, supporting the communications department and advocacy initiatives.

6. Commitment to Organizational Standards:

  • Demonstrate complete commitment to Nabaa's code of conduct, media policy and protection policies, including PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse), anti-harassment, and safeguarding policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

(A) WORK EXPERIENCE AND ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA in Journalism, or communication or graphic design or any other related field
  • Experience in Humanitarian work and NGOs
  • Experience in designing posters, reports, and other marketing materials, with the ability to convey complex information in an engaging and visually appealing manner.

(B) COMPETENCIES / PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES (as needed for performing selected tasks)

  • Attentive to details and problem-solving
  • Proven creativity skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English languages
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of child rights and protection 

(C) TECHNICAL SKILLS (as needed for performing selected tasks)

  • Computer literacy in outlook, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Internet
  • Effective report writing
  • Professionalism in using platforms for designs
