To support the growing needs of children and youth in Lebanon, Amel will launch the Makani project, a Multi-Service Community Centre (MSCC) Approach, through 19 community centers and 1 informal settlement. The project will provide comprehensive package of integrated services targeting marginalized and vulnerable children and youth aged 0-18 years and their caregivers in the Governorates of Beirut and Mount Lebanon. The MSCCs are safe spaces that provide vulnerable children and their caregivers with a range of programs, including Education, Child Protection, Early Childhood Development (ECD), Life Skills and youth engagement
support through a community-based approach, to reach both Syrian and Lebanese vulnerable children in both host communities, collective, and Informal Settlements.
In local context, the Center assistant ensures that all activities are implemented and reported in compliance with War Child policies and work plan. The Center’s Assistant Manager will work under the supervision of the field coordinator. He/She does not manage staff.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibility #1: Monitoring activities in the centers
Ensures the implementation of the program
Supports the educational, CP and PSS staff in carrying out regular activities
Keeps the archive of children’s’ forms containing all the information regarding children’s’ placement and follow up tests and other information related to the project activities.
Makes sure attendance and tracker sheet are entered in the database on regular basis.
Ensures the respect of Child Protection Policy
Organizes regular meeting with animators, teachers, outreach workers in order to ensure the correct implementation of the program according to the working plan
Assesses and monitors staff performance
Collects and shares data for internal reporting and relevant working groups on activities, ongoing trends, highlights and challenges.
Takes initiative to respond quickly to unexpected challenges
Support with the outreach of the children for the centers
Follow up (calls and visits) with the children who are absent or dropped out
Responsibility #2: Coordination, Logistics and Administration
Manages, coordinates, and ensures the logistics of all day-to-day activities
Liaise, coordinate and work closely with the field coordinator and the project coordinator
Follows up with centers staff, supervisors, trainers, facilitators.
Formulates monthly reports on drop-outs, referrals, Child Protection/Child Safety incidents and concerns, and awareness sessions.
Coordinate with the inclusion officer in order to follow up on children with special needs The Assistant Manager may support in additional tasks and carry other responsibilities which are not mentioned above, depending on the needs of the Makani project.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:
University degree in the relevant subject area (Social work, education, management administration or a relevant field);
A minimum of 3-years working experience in the community work;
Good knowledge of core principles of Children Rights and Do No Harm in Emergencies minimum standards;
Strong communication skills and ability to work in collaboration with multiple stakeholders and staff members;
Fluent in English and Arabic (oral and written);
Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point;
Strong networking and coordination skills;
Strong multitasking and organizational skills;
Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
