INTRODUCTION
The Women’s Programs Association (WPA) is a non-profit non-governmental organization (NGO), legally registered with the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities since 2008. Its mission is to provide support to Palestinian refugee women and youth and other vulnerable groups in Lebanon to develop their capacities, realize their rights, and fulfill their needs. This is achieved through Protection, Education, Livelihood, and Humanitarian Assistance programs implemented in eight Palestinian refugee camps and surroundings throughout Lebanon.
The Women's Programs Association is currently in the process of recruiting an Education Coordinator for its Education program. This position will be based at the Head Office in Beirut. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Education program and will be required to visit frequently the Palestinian refugee camps located across Lebanon.
Job Purpose
The Education Coordinator will be responsible for managing and overseeing the planning and implementation of education projects in collaboration with the field team. The main objective is to ensure high-quality implementation of these projects.
Place in the Organization
The Education Coordinator reports directly to the Programs Manager.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of WPA’s Programs, the Education Coordinator is responsible for the following:
- Contribute to the development of the WPA’s Education strategy and work plan.
- Coordinate with the field team to develop project plans, setting clear objectives and timelines, monitoring progress, and providing guidance and support as needed.
- Oversee the implementation of the education projects and activities in close coordination with the center supervisors, and ensure that all required resources are in place (technical, financial, HR, …) for proper implementation.
- Collaborate with the MEL Officer in developing tools for proper monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the projects and making any necessary adjustments to ensure their success.
- Regularly follow up the technical teams in the centers on the progress of the project(s); and with the center supervisors for administrative, financial and logistical support.
- Monitor the teams’ performance and outputs in coordination with the center supervisor
- Follow up with and update the finance and administration departments on projects related issues.
- Draft progress and final report for projects, submit regular reports for management, and other ad-hoc reports.
- Maintain direct rapport with the implementing teams through regular meetings and regular field visits to assess progress and challenges and provide support as needed.
- Assess the training needs of the teams and develop yearly training plan.
- Participate in the recruitment of project(s) staff.
Qualifications
- Degree in Education or related field.
- At least three years of relevant experience with an NGO and senior position in Education projects.
- Experience in leading and working with a team.
- Essential computer literacy (word, excel, outlook…).
- Experience in report writing and budget management.
- Good understanding of English Language (spoken & written)
