Job Title : Psychologist (beneficiaries)
Reports to : Protection Officer

Position Type : Consultancy
Job Purpose:
Provide psychological support and counseling for beneficiaries, both on an individual and group level, and support INTERSOS staff to improve the quality of specialized services provided to individuals at risk in the different centers.
Generic Duties:
- Assess the needs of the targeted beneficiaries in each center and design, in collaboration with the staff, a package of PSS activities for the beneficiaries of INTERSOS centre;
- Support INTERSOS staff to improve the quality of specialized services provided (specialized psychological services, group therapy and emotional support groups, and individual counseling) for CP survivors and individual at risk,
- Monitor the activities (awareness and support groups), within the centers and outside, and provide management advice in order to improve the activities implementation;
- Report to the Protection Project Manager and/or Protection Officer any problems and/or training needs identified during the monitoring of the implementation of psychological activities.
- Follow in an accurate way the weekly schedule shared with Protection Officer and produce monthly reports;
- Provide CWs general psychological feedback and progress after each psychological session to help in the case management process, while respecting client confidentiality, as support for the Case Worker to develop and revise the Case Management action plans.
- Inform the Protection Project Manager about any difficulty met in INTERSOS activities implementation;
- Be available to train on psychological support, MHPSS and first aid INTERSOS staff when requested;
- Collaborate with INTERSOS staff in conducting any other trainings when requested by the Protection Project Manager and the Protection Officer;
- Be available to participate in meetings in INTERSOS offices or other identified premises.
- Provide to the Protection Project Manager a weekly and monthly report on the activities conducted.
- Complete and be present a minimum 3 working days per week.
- Accomplish any other assignments given by the supervisor
Specific Duties:
(Can be adapted to the particularities of the job location and the requirement of the project. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired).
1. Prepare a Self-care package for INTERSOS staff and conduct the self-care days;
2. Receive INTERSOS staff when needed for individual counselling and stress coping mechanism;
3. Conduct support groups and individual counselling with beneficiaries;
4. Inform CWs about cases that need mental health referral, after the basic psychological session provided;
6. Assist the CWs in referrals to mental health agencies (psychiatric hospitals and shelters).
Reporting:
- Provide the CMO with an overview of the support provided through the case management. This overview will consist in a brief of what has been done for which case in collaboration with the case workers, as well as a narrative component that explains the status of each case, challenges and opportunities, and the suggested way forward for each case
- On a weekly base, the psychologist will provide the Protection Project Manager a plan of her/his activities during the week, to be developed in deep in the monthly report.
Education:
- Master Degree in Clinical or Adjustment Psychology.

Professional Competencies:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in a clinical setting and with at least 1 NGO;
- Understanding and commitment to child’s rights and protection;
- Experience providing individual counseling services;
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook);
- Analytical and reporting skills;
- Driving license for more than 2 years.
