Job description:
The Area Monitor oversees the distribution of healthy snacks to the children in the assigned schools and ensures compliance with specific guidelines, protocols, or standards within the designated geographical area. This position entails supervising multiple schools, following up on snack orders, going on daily visits, and reporting to the direct Area Coordinator.
Key responsibilities:
- School Monitoring: Regularly visit and monitor the assigned schools in the respective geographical area to ensure compliance with the WFP school snacks program guidelines. This includes checking the quality and distribution of snacks to students.
- Snack Orders: Coordinate with the assigned schools to facilitate snack orders, ensuring they are placed in a timely manner and in the right amounts to meet the nutritional requirements and schedules of the program.
- Data Collection: Collect and maintain accurate data related to the students’ participation, snack inventory, and any issues or challenges encountered in the assigned schools (either during the school visits or, in general, during the overall collaboration). This data will be used for reporting and program improvement.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on school visits, snacks’ distributions, and any issues faced during the implementation of the program. Share these reports with the Area Coordinator and other relevant stakeholders.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with school authorities, teachers, and other project stakeholders to address concerns, provide guidance, and ensure the smooth operation of the program.
- Problem Solving: Identify and address any challenges or issues that may arise in the course of the program, and work collaboratively with the Area Coordinator to find solutions.
- Adherence to Guidelines: Ensure that the WFP school snacks project under the supervision of DCL operates in full compliance with the established program guidelines, standards, and quality requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other Area Monitors and project team members to share best practices, challenges, and insights for continuous program improvement.

Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus).
- Previous experience in project monitoring, school programs, or related roles.
- Knowledge of humanitarian and NGO principles.
- MS proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Previous experience working with NGOs is a plus.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory.
- Must have a car and valid driving license.
