Main Tasks
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Social Worker will:
- Conduct initial needs assessment of affected people to determine the main urgent basic needs through households’ surveys, KII, FGD and other professional tools;
- Map the available services in areas of intervention (Health, Education, Protection, Social Security, Basic Assistance) and update the service mapping periodically;
- Delivery of basic assistance to affected people;
- Participate to the information and awareness campaign about the program, the delivery of humanitarian aid;
- Ensure that all “in need” cases are identified and addressed when possible and offer information, support and referral for incoming people seeking help;
- Manage cases in collaboration with multi-disciplinary specialists and deliver related assessments;
- Support the monitoring of the project and will gather all the data regarding the progress of the project and the social condition of the beneficiaries;
- Assist the Project Manager during the work meetings;
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports related to the progress of the activities and their effectiveness;
- Assist in any additional tasks assigned by the Project manager in line with the job profile;
Qualifications
Essentials:
• University degree in Social Work or related;
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English;
• At least 3 years of working experience with local communities and/or NGO;
• Knowledge of mental health in complex situations (IASC guidelines, Psychological First Aid, MH GAP) and human rights-based approach in mental health;
• Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work flexible hours in the eventof major emergencies;
• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication, negotiation skills, multi-tasking and organizational skills;
• Good command of the IT tools (Word, Excel, Mail, Kobo);
Desired
• Ability to adapt or change priorities according to the changing situation within a mission or the organisation itself;
• Experience and knowledge in GBV and CP could be an asset;
• Experience in emergency context is desirable;
• Knowledge of Protection Community Based Approach could be an asset.
