ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Support the PHCCs’ focal points in identifying CHWs who are willing to engage in the project. When identifying the CHWs, special attention should be directed towards the behavioural competencies and their experience in approaching vulnerable communities;
- Follow up and supervise the daily work and achievements of the CHWs and the PHCCs’ focal points by collecting weekly reports in an effective and efficient manner; the job holder must ensure that the behavioural and technical competencies of the CHWs as demonstrated on the field with the beneficiaries/facilities are up to the expectation of Relief International and in alignment with RI’s code of conduct;
- Report safeguarding concerns to RI’s reporting channels;
- Participate and support the direct line manager in any preparation or monitoring process;
- Collect, organize and archive all documents and Means of Verification following distribution and monitoring activities, attendance sheets, or any other documentation received from the field;
- Build the capacity of the CHWs on health promotion topics such as common communicable diseases, immunization, PHCC services, malnutrition screening, and other relevant key messages.
- Support the PHCCs’ focal points in monitoring outreach activities of CHWs, collecting databases from the field, setting targets and handling referrals.
- Support the PHCCs’ focal points and CHWs in monitoring all distribution activities and their relevant documentation.
- Ensure that the CHWs demonstrate a high level of professionalism while working or coordinating with beneficiaries and facilities, and any internal or external party; any incident or work-related conflict should be immediately reported by the CHWs to their direct supervisor (PHCC focal point) then discussed with the CHW Supervisor and the Public Health Officer;
- Ensure that the CHWs demonstrate a high level of cultural sensitivity, professionalism, politeness and objectivity when dealing with the beneficiaries under all circumstances;
Direct reporting, dotted line work coordination and external coordination
- The Job Holder reports directly to the Public Health Officer (PHO);
- Under the supervision of the Public Health Officer (PHO), the job holder will have a dotted-line work coordination with PHCC focal points, MEAL Department, and CHW Supervisors in remaining localities to ensure that tasks are being implemented in alignment with the needed work plans and deliverables.
Working Conditions
The Job Holder will be working from RI’s offices and field sites in North or BML or Bekaa. Frequent travel to other field offices in Lebanon, implementation areas (across Lebanon) will be required on an “as-needed” basis.
