Introduction:
Threads of Peace commonly known as House of Peace (HOPe) was registered in 2019, as a non-governmental social peace-building organization based in Lebanon. HOPe aims through different activities to enhance social peace within local communities by shifting perceptions; supporting and connecting community-based initiatives and dialogue spaces; advancing the principles of conflict sensitivity; and voicing grassroots perspectives, stories, and aspirations.

- Skills and Responsibilities Required:
5-10 years of professional experience as Executive Director or Regional Director leading a local or an international non-profit organization in strategic vision, execution, and team management.
Organizational Management Responsibilities:
- Institutional & Program Development:
Ensuring the evolution and sustainability of HOPe operational model, structures, and procedures in order to meet internal needs and external challenges. Designing and implementing HOPe HR policies that promote a healthy work environment, and facilitating modern operational model to ensure that team Units/ programs produce their self-management tools (Procedures, reports, evaluations, and feedback), and apply them. Shows dedication to fostering a culture of documentation, accountability and transparency, and ensuring institutional memory. Use of modern technologies for business and organizational management desired.
- Partnership Trustee
Maintaining and developing transparent relationships with HOPe funding partners/ donors, based on shared goals and values, agreed commitments, mutual respect, trust, and long-term collaboration.
- HOPe Representative
Voicing local perspectives by enhancing HOPe visibility and presence at the international level within the humanitarian and development field.
- Board Reporting & Relationship:
To update periodically the board members with HOPe’s status and to receive support when needed to maintain the progress and the sustainability of HOPe’s work. In addition to having the ability to balance and communicate board members' priorities with the team members' capacities and context needs.
Operational Management Responsibilities:
- Finance Authoriser
To ensure a high level of internal financial standards and the optimal use of HOPe resources. Have Strong financial insight and professional ease in understanding key financial documents including budgets, cash flow, and income statements across multiple countries and banking systems.
- Team Capacity Builder:
To ensure all team members have the competencies to carry out their roles and responsibilities. Overseeing the daily operations of a team of 15 staff with close follow-up with senior team members, within a modern operational management structure. Supporting the team to examine internal needs and identifying and suggesting potential capacity building accordingly.
- Recruiter & Orientation Facilitator:
To ensure a high level of internal HR standards and optimal use of HOPe human resources and skills. Supporting and suggesting improvement to develop the HR policy. Supporting in interviewing processes for senior positions. Supporting the team to set the dynamics of team meetings regularity, scope, documentation, and monitoring tools.
- MEAL and Research Supporter:
- To support the implementation of HOPe strategy, and the implementation of the MEAL Yearly Plan a familiarity with global MEAL standards, tools, and processes is strongly desired. Experience in research is a plus.
- Compliance and Legal:
To ensure that all employees and organizational activities comply with the local laws. Experience reviewing agreements, MOUs, and other basic understanding of legal documentation and policies is highly desirable.
- Requirements and qualifications:
- Proven track record in animation or team management with facilitation techniques experience and leadership philosophy.
- Experience, knowledge, or openness to modern operational and management models.
- Strong partners and donor connections and networks in the Middle East.
- Experience with financial audits is strongly desirable.
- Strategic decision-making and wise judgment; comfortable making tough decisions in ambiguous and evolving conditions.
- Bachelor’s degree with research experience (MA, MSc preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of proven experience and technical knowledge in peacebuilding, conflict studies, or humanitarian programs.
- Experience creating relevant growth opportunities for all team members.
- Perfect command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
- Notable time management and organizational skills.
- Trustworthy and good interpersonal communicator.
- An active and empathetic listener.
- Good computing skills.
- Additional requirement for non-Lebanese nationals: permit of residence in Lebanon is required.
