Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development is a Lebanese non-governmental organization with special consultative status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). HF is dedicated to sustainable development across various sectors, including Education & Training, Public Health, Community Support, Urban Development, and Environment & Agriculture. The foundation operates in partnership with stakeholders to promote citizen engagement, social cohesion, and community resilience.
Project Overview:
The Environment & Agriculture Program at Hariri Foundation features several projects, central to which is research, planning, and capacity building on Environmental Sustainability, Sustainable Urban Development (SUD), Circular Economy (CE), Sustainable Consumption & Production (SCP), and the Blue Economy (BE). Project activities aim to develop national and local studies, action plans, and capacity building opportunities in partnership with various international and local stakeholders.
Position Overview:
The Environment & Agriculture Program Officer will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating projects within the Environment & Agriculture Program at Hariri Foundation and across program partnerships. The officer will be responsible for supporting project activities, ensuring compliance with foundation rules and procedures, and supporting the development and delivery of capacity-building and awareness materials.
Responsibilities:
– Coordinate daily project actions, arrange activities, and manage project agendas.
– Follow up with experts, consultants, and contractors to ensure project continuity.
– Set up training sessions and workshops.
– Ensure alignment of project activities within the set timeframe.
– Ensure compliance of project activities with foundation rules and guidelines.
– Prepare reporting materials and communications related to project progress.
– Support the development of progress reports and assessments within the project context.
– Undertake and oversee field operations and project deliverables in coordination with project management.
– Coordinate project activities closely with project managers and undertake relevant tasks.
– Organize meetings, workshops, and conferences, including preparations and venue setup.
– Support project teams in desk research and mapping exercises.
– Assist in the development of capacity-building and awareness content in line with project guidelines.
– Support in the translation of reports and communications for wider stakeholder engagement.
– Perform other project officer tasks as required.
Qualifications:
– A bachelor's degree in urban development, environmental engineering, agricultural engineering, environmental sciences, management, or a related field.
– 3 to 5 years of experience in relevant technical aspects, especially in the context of environmental, educational or urban development initiatives and programs.
– Strong organizational and time management skills.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
– Proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and multi-stakeholder environment.
– Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
