LebRelief is seeking for a grassroots officer. S/he is primarily responsible for the coordination of the implementation of grassroots grants between the granted local CSOs and LebRelief, for the provision of support to granted CSOs in terms of planning, implementing, monitoring and handing over grassroots projects as well as building the capacity of these CSOs in the needed fields during the grassroots funds period.
The job location is in Baabda and Aley distinct (preferable the candidates to be located in these areas, if not, in Beirut or other closer location).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Grassroots Officer
- To be the focal point of contact with the CSOs and relevant authorities.
- Provide technical and substantive support to the recipients of grants at the stages of implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting;
- Develop learning guidelines on practicing the implementation of grassroots at river basin area approach.
- Be responsible for all grantees reporting and conducting meetings to assist the grantees through the narrative reporting;
- Organize monitoring visits to the project pilot regions and provide monitoring support to the coordinator;
- Control an effective monitoring and reporting mechanism on the grassroots component and ensure proper documentation of lessons learnt and best practices;
- Coordinate with internal departments at LebRelief for a smooth and quality based interventions.
- To coordinate with the relevant departments at LebRelief and ACTED for all the implementation, procurement, monitoring and finance challenges or needs.
- In coordination with the coordinator, identify opportunities to strengthen the capacity of grantees through appropriate training, and through knowledge sharing.
- Support the coordinator, and the Consortium as a whole, in the management and facilitation of field visits;
- Provide regular and timely updates on progress and challenges to line manager, and as relevant to coordinator.
- Participate in related conferences and workshops where possible and stay up to date on best practices and new knowledge;
- Perform any other related activities as assigned by immediate line manager
Required professional qualities and skills:
- University degree holder in the relevant related fields ( Engineering, Social works and others).
- At least 2 years experience in coordinating partners/stakeholders activities;
- Experience in managing small grants disbursed to actors;
- knowledge of the related national procedures;
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.), spreadsheet;
- Great Communication skills;
- Experience in NGOs work and structure;
- Interest and knowledge in humanitarian and/or development fields;
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision, be dynamic, proactive and creative;
- Impartiality, objectivity and the adherence to the humanitarian principles are imperative.
