Scope of the Job:

The Education Assistant will work towards ensuring the program is of a high technical quality, monitoring processes are in place, and that the program is continually assessed and solutions quickly put in place for a change of context. He/she will be in regular contact with children/youth, caregivers, teachers and the wider community.

• Reports to: Program Coordinator
• Staff directly reporting to this post: Teachers & community mobilizers (teachers report to technical officer in regards to technical matters, but to education officer in regards of any other activities)- May have regular contact with or access to children or young people.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

– Be the lead focal point of the Education program and provide technical support as needed to other Teams.

– Finalize operational work plans, set clear targets and activity plans per class and awareness sessions. These targets and activity plans should be communicated clearly to the Education Team as well as to the teachers and parents.

– Liaise on a daily basis with communities, teachers, education technical officer, and Nabad’s program coordinator, to guarantee the smooth operation of the program.

– Conduct awareness sessions with families and other stakeholders of the project location he or she is allocated to. Ensure regular monitoring, data collection and reporting of activities is done.

– Lead on outreach activities, and assist in the implementation and facilitation of trainings and workshops.

– Lead and report on monitoring and evaluating project activities.

– Produce timely reports for internal use on the ongoing activities.

– Ensure that data is collected on a weekly and monthly basis.

– Ensure a strict adherence to the principles of Child Protection at all times, including respect for confidentiality and child centered approach, acts in the best interests of the child.

N.B: Experience with child protection is mandatory.
