We offer basic healthcare, perform surgery, fight epidemics, rehabilitate and run hospitals and clinics, carry out vaccination campaigns, operate nutrition centers, and provide mental healthcare. Our activities include the treatment of injuries and disease, maternal care and the provision of humanitarian aid. Where necessary, we set up sanitation systems, supply safe drinking water, and distribute relief to assist survival.
Main Objective of the position:
Ensure completion of all activities related to medical data entry and data management into the mission database. Supervise, organise and plan the activity of Data Entry officers/operators, as well as identify their training needs in order to provide a good service support and reliability of the data collected.
Accountabilities:
- Supervise, organise and plan the activity of Data Entry officers to have a reliable record of medical activity performed, as well as identify their training/technical support needs in order to provide a good service support and reliability of the data collected.
- Ensure collation and entry of all data identified by project managers for collection (e.g. morbidity, mortality, surveillance of diseases of epidemics, nutrition, psychological and women’s health, etc) into the appropriate data management system while ensuring quality of data
- Do quality control data officers’ performance on regular basis
- Know and ensure proper use of software used for recording.
- Ensure accuracy of the medical data entered into the mission’s database on a regular basis, according to MSF protocols and carry out regular back-ups.
- Provide technical support to data entry officers/operators in project sites and give response to their training needs.
- Provide regular statistical reports for the medical team as well as informing the superior of any missing information, major changes or big differences in data
MSF Context Specific Accountabilities:
- Technical Support and Capacity Building: Provide continual technical support and targeted training, mentoring and coaching to Data Entry Officers or other health care professionals at project sites, catering to their developmental needs and enhancing overall data processing capabilities.
- Data Collection and Data Management: Ensure the efficient gathering and entry of all necessary data as identified by the Project Medical Referent and or the Medical Activity Manager for collection. This includes diverse data types such as patient demographics, service utilization, and other relevant statistics. and its input into the appropriate data management system maintaining data quality and privacy.
- Quality Control Oversight: Regularly monitor and control the quality of work performed by Data Entry Officers or other health care professionals, to maintain high standards of accuracy and consistency.
- Software Utilization and Mastery: Develop expertise in and ensure proper use of “PHENICS,” the designated software for data recording. Guide the team in the effective utilization of this software.
- Data Accuracy and Backup Procedures: Maintain the accuracy of data entered into the organization's database in accordance with MSF protocols. Implement routine data backup processes to safeguard information.
- Statistical Reporting and Communication: Generate and provide regular statistical reports to the medical team and other departments (eg. for the monthly and quarterly monitoring reports). Keep the Project Medical Referent and or the Medical Activity Manager informed about any significant data discrepancies, major changes, or notable findings.
- Adaptability and Additional Responsibilities: Adapt to operational changes and take on additional tasks as required by the line manager or organizational needs
Requirements:
Education:
Essential Bachelor’s Degree in data science, computer science, IT, statistics, management information system, public health or any other relevant degree
Essential proven computer literacy, secondary education or qualifications either in administration, data entry or in statistics.
Experience:
Essential experience in the Data management field for minimum 1 year.
Desirable MSF previous experience in a similar position.
Desirable experience in people management, training and mentoring
Desirable experience in health facilities or non-governmental organization
Knowledge:
Essential proficiency using Microsoft Office Tools
Desirable experience using data management software , PHENICS is an advantage
Language: Essential fluency in English and Arabic
